Our Cultural Diversity Depicts Wonders Of God, Says Pastor Amen Akenbor

Wife of the general overseer of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly Intl Incorporated, Benin, Pastor Mrs. Amen Akenbor has said Nigeria’s cultural diversity is a clear attestation of God’s wonders which we all must acknowledge in our day-to-day life in order to reverence Him more.

She disclosed this while addressing the congregation of the church during the 2024 church Cultural Day celebration in Benin City.

Taking her bible reading from Psalm 133:1, she said culture which is the way of life of the people, helps to unify and foster development in any given society and God Himself derives pleasure in the unifications and progress of His children.

“How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down upon the collar of his robes. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion”, Psalms 133:1.

Pastor Mrs. Akenbor said being a Christian does not mean that those cultural practices that are good should be jettisoned rather, they should be preserved and be handed over to the next generation.

Akenbor said though we all speak different languages and have diverse cultures, the love of Christ unifies us.

She said when such love is allowed to permeate our hearts, hatreds will not spread adding that one of the cardinal reasons Christ came down to die for us is to demonstrate His love for us and unite us with Him.

“There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus”, Galatians 3:28

She added that the day’s event should draw them closer to God and they should be a genuine ambassador of Christ and the church wherever they found themselves.

Newstracktoday reports that the following tribes, the Bini, Tiv, Yoruba, Urhobo, Ishan, Hausa, Ibo and Calabar featured in this year’s Cultural Day celebration of the church.
