The assistant pastor of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly Intl Incorporated, Benin Pastor Osazee Aibangbee has tasked christian faithful on regular spiritual check-up with the view of ascertaining their level of alignment with God.

He gave the task while speaking on the topic: “Spiritual Check-up” in Benin City.

Pastor Aibangbee said that as one goes to the hospital/clinic for a regular health check, that should be how a Christian should reevaluate his or her day-to-day life with the word of God to know if he or she is still in tune with Him or has derailed.

Aibangbee said as it is also true that sickness that finally snowballed into a deadly stage, didn’t just start in a moment but may have given a sign to the sick person, so also is backsliding.

He said with the regular checking with the word of God, one can know his shortcomings, turn to God and be reinstated back to Him.

Taking his bible reading from the book of Haggai 1:5-7, he said it is quite unfortunate that some so-called believers have failed to showcase the true attributes of Christ rather, they have indulged themselves in backbiting, gossiping and other vices that are contrary to the will of God.

“Now therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider how you have fared. You have sown much, and harvested little; you eat, but you never have enough; you drink, but you never have your fill; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and you that earn wages earn wages to put them into a bag with holes”, Haggai 1:5-7.

He said the above attitude exhibited by the so-called christians have made tongues to wag, resulting to numerous questionings of ones true identity.

Speaking further, the clergyman said, carrying the bible alone doesn’t make one a christian and that all our actions and inactions would be tried by fire, therefore, he appealed to members of the church to rededicate themselves and show more commitments to the work of God.

“Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward”, 1 Corinthians 3:13-15.

He further cautioned that, now that they still have life in them, they still stand a better chance of x-raying their lives with the word of God and turn to Him in total humility in order to find rest for their souls.
