As the 15 passengers kidnapped along the Calabar-Oron waterways still remain missing, the Cross River State Police Command said it is working around the clock to rescue and unite them with their families.

The image maker of the command, ASP Eitokpah Sunday disclosed this in Calabar while commenting on the incident.

According to him, “With respect to the alleged abduction of 15 passengers aboard a Sea Express boat en route from Calabar to Oron on Friday, the command is working in close synergy with the Akwa Ibom State Police Command and the Nigerian Navy.

“Coordinated search-and-rescue and tactical operations are currently ongoing to ensure the safe recovery of the victims and the swift apprehension of the perpetrators,” Sunday added.

Recall that at least 15 passengers were kidnapped aboard a ferry along the Calabar-Oron waterway last Friday.

The waterway serves as an alternative for people travelling from Cross River to Akwa Ibom State.
