Right Foundation of Life International School (RFLIS) recently hosted its inaugural inter-house sports competition, tagged “Teamwork and Perseverance – A Key to Success.”
The event, held on March 28, 2025, showcased the school’s commitment to fostering a culture of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship among its students and it was celebrated in a grand style.
The competition, held at the school’s premises on Iyayi Efianayi Road, (Egba road) off Benin-Auchi expressway, featured various games and sports activities, including bursting balloons, filling baskets, egg and spoon races, and track events. Students from the blue, red, green, and yellow houses competed enthusiastically, displaying their skills and teamwork.
In his welcome address, School Director Austin Peter expressed his appreciation to students, staff, parents, and guests for their participation.
He emphasized the importance of sports in developing students physically, intellectually, and morally. Peter encouraged students to embrace the spirit of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship, envisioning them as future sports leaders in Nigeria and globally.
Chairman of the event, Pastor Aveladia Samson Obhokhan, commended the teachers, coaches, and staff for their dedication and hard work.
He advised students to maintain discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship, challenging themselves to excel while making new friends and learning from their mistakes. Obhokhan also urged parents to continue supporting their children’s participation in sports, emphasizing its importance for their health.
The event featured impressive performances, including a parade by the RFLIS Royal Parade Command, a colorful march past by the four houses, and energetic cheerleading.
The competition concluded with the presentation of medals to deserving athletes and the announcement of the yellow house as the overall winner with over 250 points. The yellow house was awarded the largest gold cup in the competition.
The successful hosting of the maiden inter-house sports competition underscores RFLIS’s commitment to providing a well-rounded education that emphasizes academic excellence, physical development, and character building.
