Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited (RENL) has renewed its commitment to strengthening safety, integrity and responsible conduct across its operations as the company commemorated its 2026 Health, Safety, Environment and Ethics (HSE/Ethics) Day at the Adeola Site.
Held under the theme “Safety First, Integrity Always,” the event brought together management, employees and key stakeholders to reaffirm their collective responsibility for fostering a safe, ethical, inclusive and values-driven workplace.
The Managing Director of RENL, Olivier Odoukou, represented by the Deputy Human Resource Manager, Taiwo Akinmadelo, emphasized that safety goes beyond compliance with workplace rules, describing it as a fundamental commitment to protecting lives.
Odoukou stressed that every employee has the right to return home safely at the end of each workday, emphasising that no production target should ever come at the expense of workers’ health, safety and wellbeing.
He highlighted RENL’s sustained investment in employee training, personal protective equipment, risk assessments and the implementation of safe work practices, noting that these measures remain central to building a strong safety culture across the company’s operations.
Odoukou also reminded employees that RENL’s commitment to safety extends beyond the workplace to their dependants, families and host communities.
He therefore urged staff to remain vigilant and mindful of how their actions and decisions could affect the safety and wellbeing of others.
The event also featured insightful presentations and interactive sessions focused on gender equality, inclusion and mutual respect in the workplace.
Participants were encouraged to embrace fairness, challenge discriminatory practices and promote a work environment where everyone is treated with dignity and given equal opportunity to thrive, free from harassment and bias.
The celebration further underscored RENL’s determination to embed safety, integrity, respect and inclusion as enduring values across its operations, workforce and host communities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to building a workplace where people feel safe, valued, respected and empowered to contribute meaningfully.
