The general overseer and founder of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly Intl Incorporated, Benin, Rev Sunny Akenbor has advised christians to stop running from pillar to post with the aim of searching for protections and solutions to their problems.
He gave the advice while speaking on the topic”The secret place of the most high” during the Sunday church service in Benin.
Rev. Akenbor said there is no protections outside Christ as one can only be safe when one is saved.
Reading from Psalms 91:1-3 Akenbor likens christians who are under God’s protection to chicken that are shielded by mother-hen whose safety are guaranteed while those who are not in Christ are those that have decided to stray away thereby making themselves vulnerable to danger of all kinds.
He also likens believers to snail whose protective shell has made it very secure even before the presence of an hawk.
“Whoever dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
“I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
“Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snares and from the deadly pestilence”, Psalm 91:1-3
The clergyman said to those who believe that there is no need to go to church to serve God and that church only resides in the heart should have a rethink because God has said that where one or two have gathered in His name, that He is there in their midst.
He stressed that believers should have the mind of David who was so delighted in being in the house of God.
“One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple”, Psalm 27:4.
He said in this time and season, christians have to follow Christ who is the good shepherd and stop running from pillar to post for protections and that those who indulged in double standards never end well but in miseries and pains.
The general overseer and founder of the church assured members of the congregation that as long as they keep serving God in spirit and in truth, their safety is sure as God can’t go against His words.
