A studio which should have been a room or space where an artist(e) either teaches or does his work, has unfortunately became a place where seven promising youths lost their lives in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The ugly incident was said to have happened after the seven of them must have allegedly inhaled the fumes from a generating set inside a music studio, along Transformer road, in Amarata axis of the state .
The deceased persons were said to have been working in the recording studio, owned by one of them, known as Akpos Barakubo, where the ugly incident happened on Monday night.
According to the residents of the area, the crew members in the studio were working into the night using their generating set, due to poor power supply in the state, and eventually fell asleep and forgot to switch off the generator.
It was gathered that six bodies were later discovered dead in the morning, while one, who was unconscious and was rushed to the hospital, later died.
It was also learnt that most of the deceased are undergraduate students from the Niger Delta University (NDU), who are into the recording business to help themselves while in school.
At the time of filing the report, security operatives have cordoned off the area, while the corpses have been evacuated to the mortuary.
However, the Bayelsa State Police command Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Musa Muhammed when contacted, said he was yet to be briefed about the ugly incident .
