The suspended Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the State Flood Erosion and Watershed Management Agency (FEWMA), Mr. Ahmed Musa Momoh, has denied involvement in the turbaning ceremony and appointment of Chiefs and Village Heads by the Aidenogie of South-Ibie Kingdom, in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
He said this in Benin while setting the record straight as they relate to the ceremony that led to his suspension as the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of FEWMA.
Mr. Momoh said that, as the CEO of FEWMA in the state, he only went to Edo North on Friday for the purpose of inspecting some gully erosion sites contrary to the insinuation that he went for a turbaning ceremony.
Momoh said that parts of the instructions from the European Investment Bank (EIB) programme is for them to liaise with the traditional institutions in every communities that they have to work on their gully sites in order to avoid unnecessary conflict of interest, adding that, that was why he visited the traditional ruler, moreover, he said he was not even aware of any turbaning ceremony.
“And also, in our community, when we normally visit communities, the EIB World Bank standard is that, you must visit the community services and who are the community services? It has to start with the traditional institutions.
“So, I visited the three traditional institutions where we had reports on gully erosion sites in Edo North. And that is where I went to.
“I am not aware of any turbaning ceremony.
He however pledges his loyalty to the Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, saying that, he is so sorry for whatever that has happened and that, he is ever ready to work with him to deliver on his (Okpebholo )electioneering campaign promises to the people of the state.
