The Chief Executive Officer, Surprised Pub and Cafe, Matthew Oshodin, has advised Nigerian artistes to take advantage of the modern day technology, especially the Artificial Intelligence (AI) to grow their trade.

He made the call while speaking on his over 20 years journey in the hospitality/entertainment business in the state.

Mr. Oshodin, who is also the CEO of Realknock Entertainment, said leveraging on the Artificial Intelligence, would help the artistes to maximize cost and be very efficient in their musical career.

“One of the best things that has happened to the entertainment industry, is the introduction of AI.

Before now, we used to pay heavily for music videos but right now, you don’t even need to pay that much. You can actually do a good music video with AI.

“So, your dressing, even what you are putting on, everything, the costume, AI will generate everything for you.

“So, you don’t need to pay for all these things. So, AI is one of the best things that has happened to the music industry. And I hope a lot of artistes utilize it very well in a positive way”, Oshodin said.

Oshodin maintained further that the state has witnessed an improvement in its nightlife activities courtesy of the state government’s measure towards addressing insecurity in the state.

“When there is insecurity, the business will not boom because it is a night business. A lot of people would want to stay indoor because they are scared to come out. It really affected our business a lot but we are lucky we have a governor that listens.

“The governor came up with an idea, which is, the anti cultism/anti kidnapping law. This has really helped us a lot to address the issues of insecurity. So, security has really improved in Edo state. So right now, I’m happy.

While calling on the state government to partner those in the hospitality/entertainment industry to harness and groom potential talents in the state, he said it would help tackle insecurity and create more jobs for the teeming youths in the state.

“I would like the government to walk with us in the entertainment industry so that we can provide enabling environment for us to engage this youth to get busy. And when they get busy, they’ll be productive.

“So, I think the government should do more by aligning with us in the entertainment industry to scout for the young and raw talents that will be productive.

“Also, funding is good but there should be synergy. There should be a good relationship. There’s nothing wrong. The governor can come up to say we want to have a state award for our youths that are creative.

“We can create that platform for him to work with us. We can even recommend artistes who are doing well that should be awarded. So, it’s not just funding, but they should engage us more because we are always on ground”, Oshodin said.

Oshodin who said he has won several awards such as Benin Film Academy in conjunction with Igbinedion University, award, Bside FM award and Rotary Club Oregbeni award, added that, the state government can do same to other artistes to encourage them so that they can put in their best and grow the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the state.

Newstracktoday reports that Matthew Oshodin is a chief with the title of Eni of Ujiogba Kingdom, in Edo State.
