The entertainment spotlight is turning to Nigeria’s South-South region as The Jokers Award, an initiative of Flipmode Brand, prepares to celebrate the finest entertainers, media personalities, and creative industry leaders redefining the cultural landscape.
More than an award show, The Jokers Award is a movement — a celebration of talent, creativity, and collaboration within the South-South entertainment ecosystem.
This year’s edition kicks off with an Entertainment Executive Summit, bringing together entertainment executives, media leaders, and creative entrepreneurs to discuss the future of the industry, brand synergy and regional growth.
Speaking on the vision behind the initiative, Mr. Ben Emetomo, CEO of Flipmode Brand, reaffirmed his belief in unity and teamwork within the entertainment industry.
“The South-South is blessed with immense talent. What we need now is collaboration — creative minds working together to drive recognition, innovation and sustainability. The Jokers Award provides that platform,” he said.
Also speaking, Sir Paul Ofoni, CEO of Walkfront African Network Limited and Consultant to The Jokers Award, emphasized the importance of creating a strong entertainment foundation for the region. “It is long overdue to position the South-South where it truly belongs.
This initiative aims to help stabilize and grow the industry, giving the upcoming generation a base to build from. It’s a call for all big acts, promoters, and media brands across the region to come together and create something of repute,” he stated.
The Jokers Award aims to become an annual celebration of creativity and excellence, recognizing achievements across music, film, comedy, media, and fashion while fostering unity and pride among entertainers in the region.
