UNIBEN Students In “The” Right Place Of Study – VC ‎

‎The Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. Edoba Omoregie, SAN, has reassured students that they are in the right institution to pursue their academic ambitions.

‎Prof. Omoregie gave the assurance at the annual lecture/award ceremony of the Department of Marketing, where he was honoured with an award of excellence in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to the development of the university.

‎The VC who was represented at the event by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Ekenwan Campus), Prof. Buniyamin Ayinde,

‎ encouraged students to continue adding value to the institution, noting that UNIBEN would “continue to market itself” through quality teaching, research, and innovation.

‎Other distinguished personalities, including popular comedian Lawrence Osarenkhoe, known as MC Casino, were also honoured with awards of excellence.

‎Earlier in his remarks, the Acting Head of the Department of Marketing, Dr. Samuel Osifo, described the annual event as a flagship programme that celebrates academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and exceptional achievements.

‎He further advocated for deeper knowledge sharing, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

‎Delivering the lecture titled “Marketing Is Everything, Everything Is Marketing,” guest speaker Dr. Charles Ugorji highlighted that marketing revolves around value creation and the satisfaction of customers’ needs.

‎ According to him, State authorities demonstrate effective public marketing when they harness available resources to meet the needs and aspirations of citizens.
