It was a moment of jubilation and celebration galore, Friday, on Airport Road, Benin, as Michael Ojiezele was elected as chairman of the Great GSM Association, Benin City.
He was elected alongside other executive members to pilot the affairs of the association for the next few years.
In the keenly contested election, Ojiezele polled 157 votes to defeat his opponents who polled 95 votes and 15 votes respectively.
In the election, Ojezua Victor emerged as Vice Chairman while Temi Ebami emerged as Secretary of the Great GSM Association.
Other executives elected to work with the chairman are: Uwanbunor Chekube, Financial Secretary, Chris Uwanfulu, Treasurer; Orhue Kingsley, Public Relations Officer and Erukpe Mathew, Provost.
Addressing members of the association in the mood of celebration, the newly elected chairman who thanked members for entrusting in him the position, promised to run a transparent and credible administration.
He stressing that he would make progress and welfare of members his top priority.
He assured members that irregularities in the association constitution shall be looked into through legal back up.
The newly elected chairman noted that the GSM village being a revenue source of government, he would work with relevant authorities to reshape the Great GSM village for the better.
