As Edo people count down to the day of summon for BEDC by Edo State House of Assembly, it is the Ernest expectation of the people to see a vibrant, virile and vicious house potent enough to defend them from the very monster who have brought darkness, economic loss and extortion to their door steps.
With the bracing impurity that BEDC carry out their oppressive tendencies on the people and audacity with which they speak to defend their criminal tendencies, they leave us worried as to where they get their backings and confidence relied on.
Could they be having so much backings from the political class both at the national cum sub-national level??? Do the EDHA has the balls to speak truth to BEDC??? can they use their powers to call BEDC to order??? Will they direct BEDC to immediately commence the installation of equipments bought accross communities without further delay and financial demands??? Will they order the EFCC, ICPC and DSS to investigate management of BEDC on the frauds in their operations and services to the people???
Who will EDHA serve tomorrow?. Will they serve the people and save them or serve the capitalist to sustain their access to the meals from the King’s table which defiles beyond measure.
Amongst other things, we must begin to question the fact as to whether BEDC has the requisite capacity to effectively distribute power in Edo state, let alone four states put together. We must question the state of BEDC infrastructures.
When last did BEDC buy a transformer for the last five years? What is the state of their power facilities? This might begin to reveal clearer pictures that BEDC is not a long-term investor with the goal of serving the people, but a short-term profit driven capitalist who wants to gather what they can and zoom off.
Dear EDHA, the responsibility of speaking for Edo people lies on your shoulders. Don’t fail us so that we will not face you.
