The general overseer and founder of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly (GGGGA), Intl Incorporated, Benin, Rev Sunny Akenbor has assured believers in Christ that they can live comfortably on earth and also in heaven.
He said that the believe that one has to be poor on earth to be able to make heaven is a lie from the pit of hell.
Rev Akenbor disclosed this while speaking on the topic: “It is not over yet” during the Sunday church service in Benin City.
Akenbor who said it is not over yet, maintained that now that we still have breath in our nostrils, we still have the opportunity to repent, turn away from our wicked ways and turn to God with humility and sincerity of purpose.
Reading from the book of Luke 16:19-31 which centred around the life and times of Lazarus and the rich man, said the rich man, when he craved for a second chance, he was denied the opportunity.
He noted that Lazarus didn’t gain acceptance into God’s kingdom because he was poor but because he knew God and served Him with the whole of his heart.
He said some believers have held tenaciously onto that believe that Lazarus entered heaven because he was very poor while the rich man went to hell because he was stupendously rich.
He said such notion should be discarded immediately.
He said the rich man did not enter heaven because he refused to serve God even with his wealth.
Akenbor said God doesn’t take glory in believers poverty rather it angers Him and that, that is the reason He said that He wishes us above everything to prosper and be in health even as our souls prosper.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”, 3 John 1:2
He said as christian, you can be rich on earth and still make heaven.
He further called on christians to upgrade themselves academically while others who are not going to school can learn trade or skills to better their lives.
The clergyman appealed to believers to do everything in their power to preach the word of God to their children, get them converted to Christ because they will not be happy seeing their wards in hell while they themselves are in heaven.
